Home Sweet Home...

I finished the mini-remodel late yesterday/early this morning just in time to have friends over this afternoon. One friend remarked that it was quite possibly the smallest apartment he had ever been in which is one of the reasons I often call it the smallest possible living space (for me). I've added some pictures below:

Even the bathroom got a bit of a change with updated colors and the pictures from the old apartment finally making it to the wall.

This side angle of the kitchen wall gives you an idea of how big the space is. My mini-fridge and mini-oven while cute are sometimes a bit on the small side but very functional.

The couch assembly went fairly quickly. The most shocking part of the whole endeavor was that I had moved the mattress out in to the hallway and posted on Craig's List that I was getting rid of it. I called one of the girls who emailed to tell her she could come get it but before she could someone stole it from the hallway. Note to self: never leave anything you care about in the hallway.

Included in the additions are a collapsible "sphere chair" which is like a camping chair ran into a papasan chair. Very cozy and very collapsible.

Feeling a bit like I had run the gauntlet of furniture adventures, it was nice to curl up on my new couch last night and go to sleep. While it is a sleeper sofa, having the option to leave the room assembled and ready for company was delightful and well worth the adventure.

The Mini-Apartment Furniture Remodel

From time to time, it seems important to clean and rearrange - oh and make room for people. Until recently, it was a little strange to have people over to my apartment. In an effort to remodel and make it guest friendly, I decided it was time to get rid of my current furniture and to organize my stuff.

This shot is of my kitchen wall and the edge of the new rug (and the boxes that formerly resided under my bed).

This is where the bed used to be. Its waiting for the couch to arrive. Notice the beautiful new teal shower curtain to cover the ugly closet shelves. This picture was taken standing next to the fridge as you can see by the handle of the fridge on the right edge of the picture. It gives you an idea how small my apartment is.

This is my window wall. I have three windows total - One skinny one on one side of the fridge and two fatter ones on the other. This also gives you an idea of where the kitchen and the living room come together.

This picture was taken from the corner by the teal shower curtain wall facing the door. Those boards are the pieces of my bed that are going to storage and the boxes on the left are the boxes from under my bed.
