A weekend at the beach...

I spent this weekend with my cousin's church group at the beach - the beautiful rural town of Yachats (yaw-hots). Its grown tons! When I was a kid, there were many fewer houses (probably 1/4 of what's there now).

Our house was just the other side of the road next to the beach as you can see out our windows.

Tidal Pools are fun!

It is fun to climb high on the rocks and take silly pictures.... it was a beautiful day!

So many fun surfaces to climb, so little time!

Re-Unsettling In

I'm back from another snowy/rainy/messy trip to Seattle - thankful for traveling mercies and ready to um... well, unsettle in...

I moved into my apartment yesterday when I got back... well, moved may be a stretch. I threw everything in on my way out to Seattle Saturday and then sort of kicked it aside far enough to drop/drag/push more boxes in... and somehow that's not even half my stuff. So sad... Once I get the camera out of the err... car? (I think) I will post pictures of the apartment.

This is the view out the back door at my grandpa's house.

Many years ago my grandparents bought bunk beds for us "kids". The bottom futon is "mine" and this is the view from that perch. Its very cozy.. esp if you drape things around it and make a fort.

This may seem like an odd view but its the one looking from the living room down the hall and is as familiar as the others; all part of being home.

Nearly Settling In

We came up to Seattle last weekend to get the furniture. The weather report called for rain and snow mixed all weekend but we barely were sprinkled on twice. Needless to say, God's provision was amazing! We did however take a number of precautions to make sure that the furniture would make it (see below):

Tarped, duct taped and ready to go!

Slightly less than ready to go....

It really is beautiful out here... this is the pasture just before the turn off to go up the hill to my cousin's house. Its so peaceful and just beautiful.

I've gotten a few chances to get my camera out since I got home and every morning that I drive to work, I think: "Oh! I should get the camera out." I haven't yet but will soon to get some pictures of the lake and the fog around the lake.

I am looking forward to not having to drive that awful highway in the mornings. The other morning there were no less than 6 vehicles off in the ditch on the little two mile stretch (two in the wetlands surrounding the lake) and people were driving at 25 rather than 55 which made my little 20 minute commute take an hour.

I found out yesterday I do have an apartment starting in the middle of the month which will mean another trip to Seattle to get my boxes in storage. I am excited to settle in but that is coming soon! Seems like a lot of things are almost but not yet and that seems good.

Work has been good; definitely different! I am past the wanting to breakdown everyday as I leave and wondering what on earth I've done stages which is good. I hope that part stays away for a while. I have a few more pictures on my phone but still trying to figure out how to get them off of there.... so, maybe on the next post?
