Mom has come to visit for a couple weeks. So I thought I would dust off the camera and take it with us. As a result, I have some pictures to post! Its been quite a while but life has well, gotten in the way of enjoying normal things like adventures and photography.
These two pictures are from a series I'm using in my living room. I am transferring them to canvas and then will put shutters on the wall on either side of the top one and then the lower own will go on the wall with the white wall space as the mat and then a three dimensional frame separately attached to the wall. Very fun but not quite done!

The series is based on times with my grandpa and travelling to and from seeing him. I'm working with a new little camera that I sincerely am fighting with and then my regular trusty canon for other larger trips. But I was pleased with these.
Anyway! Here's a short update and then some pictures. In late January/ early February, I changed roles at work which brought all sorts of mixed emotions. Things are settling in and I love getting to talk to people daily which I had missed when I came to Eugene.
I still have ideas about maybe moving east or south and teaching in an inner city but those are put on hold for a little while as I'm working out other details. I've been hiking or exploring when I can find space and time to do so. I prefer going with people but its pretty solitary here.
Anyway! Enough of an update -- here are the pictures from this week's adventure to the beach with mom and frisbee gold with Mom and Amanada. I anticipate we will have some more adventures (hopefully a waterfall hike) before Mom goes home on Thursday. Here are some of my favorites from the beach:
This was taken at the Heceta (huh-see-tuh) Head lighthouse trail. There is a small trail that you can take from the lighthouse keepers house down to a point looking out on the ocean and a deep drop off down the side (no rails).
See that little point out there? That is where we walked to. The view is so rewarding and definitely worth the climb down the rocks.
This is looking back at the little trail you come down before talking out onto the point. So much fun!
So, I post this with the caveat of -- ignore the spikey ponytail hair and wind blown look. The wind was out of control and this was the only solution! Mom and I climbed out onto that rock behind us to get pictures in the ocean and of the tide pools. The posting is for documentary purposes. Yep we were there! :o)
The tide pools had all kinds of marvelous little fish, creatures, mussels, anemones, etc. and made for ample phtographic materials. That's probably why we came back with over 600 shots between us - like mother like daughter when it comes to our cameras!
One of the delightful parts of being nearly 3 months behind weather wise is that the flags (wild iris) were just blooming and filled the hill side we came down. You cant really tell from these pictures but these little purple flags covered the hillside above the rocks on the little trail making it a delight to climb down.
My little sister (Amanda) came for the first weekend that mom was here and we girls adventured out to play a little frisbee golf at the local course. Here are some pictures! The one above it of all our discs together (thanks mom for sharing the pictures)!
This is out at the Dexter, OR frisbee golf course and it is a very nice place to throw a frisbee. The only difficulty when we went is that it had just rained an unusual amount. So, the normally very dry dusty course had some unusual water hazards that are not normally there.
The course as a whole is down through the woods and around the park which can either be very fun or very frustrating. The basket on this one is down the middle of the picture behind and to the left of the tree in the back center. Yay, for adventures (and its a good thing we go more for fun and less for competition) :o)

We did take Amanda back to Portland to catch her flight and Mom and I rode the train back south. Here is the picture from the MAX (Portland rapid transit) as we are approaching the train station after taking her rental car back.
More adventures to come and perhaps the camera will stay out long enough to post a little bit more often.
